Sullivan, John A. - 1997
Sullivan was an outstanding boxer, coach, and boxing commissioner for Savannah. He attended the University of Georgia and boxed for the institution. Not only did Sullivan have a remarkable career at Georgia, but he also coached the team in 1932. He returned to Savannah to coach the Savannah High School boxing team from 1934-40. In 1935, Sullivan started the first boxing commission.
