Finocchiaro, Michael A. - 1980
Michael A. Finocchiaro first became known to the local sports scene through his involvement in the Benedictine Athletic Association. Since then, he has served in practically every capacity of the organization. In addition, Finocchiaro has donated the trophy to the city high school basketball championship team since 1959 and the trophy to the city’s outstanding high school football player since 1976.
His other involvements in sports include serving on the Mayor’s Pack-the-Park Baseball Committee, president of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame, chairman of the Savannah Quarterback Club Player-of-the-Week Committee, and member of the Savannah Quarterback Club Team.
