Artley, James M. - 1969
Artley was charter president of the Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Fame, organized in 1965. He was an athlete at Savannah High School, the University of Michigan and Duke University. After military service in World War II, he became an official and graduated into the collegiate officiating ranks with the Southeastern Conference. He perennially is rated by the SEC coaches as the No. 1 official in the conference. He has officiated in numerous post-season bowl games and has served as president of the Offiicals Section of the SEC.
