Oscar Chaplin, III - Weightlifting, 2026
Oscar Chaplin III was one of the most accomplished Olympic weightlifters to ever emerge from Savannah and a trailblazer for American weightlifting on the international stage. After two years of training with Team Savannah, Chaplin became the youngest athlete to qualify for the USA Weightlifting National Championships at 11 years old. The Jenkins High School graduate was a two-time Olympian, competing in 2000 and 2004. Chaplin would win 15 junior and senior American records, one of which still stands today.
