Woodson, Freddie - Football, 2006
Freddie Woodson played high school football at Tompkins High School under Coach Joseph Turner. He was an All-State performer and played tackle on Tompkins State Championship Team in 1960. His All-Star performance in high school earned him a scholarship to Florida A&M University, where he continued to demonstrate remarkable sport prowess. After a great college career, Woodson was signed by the Miami Dolphins primarily because of his size and speed at the guard position and eventually became a steady performer. One of his exciting moments came when he scored on a 24-yard touchdown run after an interception against the Minnesota Vikings. Woodson had a long and successful career with Miami, playing from 1967-74.
