Williams, W.O. “Billy” - Football, 1981

Williams was a four-sport letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and cross-country in the mid-1920s at Savannah High School. He went on to have a memorable career at Roanoke College where he excelled in basketball and football. A star backfield and performers, he scored ten touchdowns in 1930 and captained the Roanoke squad. Williams was also the starting shortstop for two years on the Maroon baseball team. He is a member of the Roanoke College Athletic Hall of Fame.
