Williams was twice honored with All-American status during his four-year career at Armstrong State College – he was picked honorable mention after his junior year and first team following his senior season. Williams was one of the most prolific scorers in Armstrong State history and his efforts helped the Pirates gain national recognition.
At the time of his induction, Williams was the second leading scorer in ASC history with 2,116 points and 20.3 points per game average. The guard also led in career steals (262) and was fourth in career rebounds (692). After his college career ended, Williams was drafted in the National Basketball Association’s annual draft by the Detroit Pistons in the seventh round.
