Searcey, Jr., Bill - Football , 1992

Bill Searcey was one of the most highly recruited high school athletes ever to come out of Savannah. The Benedictine Military School’s standout lineman, measuring in at 6’4” - 245 pounds, entertained offers from the University of Alabama, Georgia, Florida Sate, South Carolina, and Virginia before accepting a scholarship offer from Alabama. During his collegiate career, Searcey moved to offensive line. He was a backup on the 1978 national championship team and played a starter position on the national championship teams in 1979 and 1980. After his college career ended, Searcey played with the Birmingham Stallions and the Houston Gamblers of the United States Professional Football League.
