Provence, Andrew - Football, 1995

Provence traveled the athletic roads at Savannah’s Benedictine Military School, the University of South Carolina, and the Atlanta Falcons before finding his path in the ministry. He now hold a counselor’s position with Christian Families Today in Atlanta. As a three-year starter at Benedictine, Provence was named to the Savannah News-Press All-City team two years (1977-78) and was an All-State selection in 1978. The next year, he was named one of the top fifty recruits in the nation by Football News. As anchor of the defensive at the University of South Carolina for three years, Provence set a school record for most tackles for a defensive lineman (397) – which held from 1979-82 – and has a team high of 29 sacks. He was selected in the third round of the 1982 NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Provence made the NFL All-Rookie team in 1983. He played with the Falcons for five years before ending his career with the Denver Broncos after suffering an injury.
