Harper, Frankie - Football, 2005
Harper attended Tompkins High School and became a basketball phenomenon, while also playing football and baseball. In both 1968 and 1969, he was named to the Christmas Invitational All-Tournament Team, All-City Team, All-Region Team, and the WTOC All-Star Team. He was also the leading scorer for Savannah in 1969, averaging 25.1 points per game. Following graduation from Tompkins, Harper attended Savannah State College where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was second team All-Conference in Basketball in 1970-71, first team All-Conference in football from 1970-72, and first team All-Conference in baseball in 1971. Harper went to camp with the Baltimore team, but gave up his dream of playing professional football due to an injury and some unfortunate circumstances.
