Hall, David - Basketball, 1987
David Hall was the driving force of one of Beach High School’s most successful basketball teams, winning the state championship in 1967 and placing second in 1969. While at Beach, Hall led the team in rebounding both years and set a then state record for rebounds in a game (26). Following his outstanding prep career, Hall headed west to Kansas State University on a basketball scholarship. At KSU, he continued to refine the rebounding skills and scoring ability that made him such a standout at Beach. In 1972, Hall captained the Wildcats selection and District 5 All-American teams. He also captained his KSU team both his junior and senior seasons, leading them to two NCAA tournament appearances. In addition to his performances on the court, Hall was also commended as an Academic All-American. After college, he was drafted by the Kentucky Colonels of the American Basketball Association and the Kansas City Kings of the National Basketball Association. He played two years of professional basketball in Italy before ending his athletic career to pursue academic interests.
