Edward Daniels - 2009

Edward Daniels was a 1969 graduate of Sol C. Johnson High School. Edward led his team to a State Championship in basketball for the 1969 season. He was a 4 time All-City player and a 2 time “First Team” All-State player. Edward received numerous awards which included being named MVP in the State Basketball Tournament and being recognized as a High School All American. Edward began his college career with a scholarship to attend Indiana University. He started as sophomore with the team being rated as high as 12th in the country. After 2 seasons at Indiana University, Edward transferred to Marquette University where he played for the legendary coach Al Maguire. Edward was the 6th man on a “Final Four” team that would go on to play in the championship game. In his professional career, Edward has been a well recognized teacher and coach in the Savannah Area. He has had success coaching both high school and college basketball.
