Edgerly, David E. - Firearms, 1982
Edgerly twice won All-American honors as a member of the rifle team at The Citadel in 1962 & 1963. As a cadet, he also made the SEC All-Conference for the same two years. In the late 1963 season, Edgerly led the Cadets to the national championship. The team defeated more than 400 opponents to win the national honor.
After graduation, Edgerly joined the U.S. Army; and in 1967, he competed with and directed the team that won the U.S. Army Championship Rifle matches. In high school, Edgerly was a three-year member of the Benedictine Military School rifle team and captain of the team his senior year.
