Campbell, Jean Schley - Kayaking, 2002
Campbell was a Savannah Country Day graduate of 1969. She began kayaking in the spring of 1971 and earned one of four appointments on the 1973 World Championship Team two years later. Here, Campbell competed in several kayaking events such as Whitewater, Kayak Canoe, Slalom, and Wild Water venues. Her career highlights include National Champion in Slalom K-1W Team (1974), National Champion in Slalom K1-W Individual (1977), National Champion in K-2W 5000-Meter (1978), and National Champion Wild Water Team (1985). Campbell represented the U.S. in seven total World Championship competitions. She also competed in International Kayaking events in Germany, Austria, Canada, and Yugoslavia.
