Eisenberg, Jerome E. “Jerry” - 1966

Coming to Savannah from Schenectady, N.Y. in 1924, Eisenberg became athletic director of the Jewish Educational Alliance and coached winning teams which defeated such collegiate basketball aggregations as Georgia Teach, Furman University, and Mercer University. Many of his athletes advanced into collegiate ranks. While on faculty at Savannah High School, he also served as athletic director. Eisenberg was active in the old Georgia Interscholastic Athletic Association, forerunner of the current Georgia High School Association, and served two terms as president of the statewide organizations.
