Blount, Sr., John W. - 1967
Blount was one of ten original directors of the Savannah High School Athletic Association. This organization allowed Blount the opportunity to integrate both his keen interest in sports and his concern for the youth of Savannah. Blount’s leadership in the Savannah High School Athletic Association is credited with improving the school’s sports program from sandlot to first-rate status.
