Tassopoulos, Spero - Football, 1976
Tassopoulos starred as a center and tackle at Savannah High School from 1922-24 and achieved All-Southern High School honors in 1924. He went on to play at the University of Georgia from 1927-30 and was a star center his last two years on the team. He is a member of the “All-University of Georgia Greats” team and is a charter member of the University of Georgia Hall of Fame, inducted in 1955. Tassopoulos was honorable mention All-American and honorable mention All-SEC at Georgia. He later returned to coach at Savannah High School with John Varnedoe.
