Meyers, Henry V. - Basketball, 1979
Meyers, known for his exploits on the basketball court, played at Savannah High School during his prep career and became a starter his junior and senior years. His team won three successive state titles; and the 1923 team was picked to play in the national high school tournament in Chicago. Meyers was a two-time member of the All-GIAA prep team as well.
After graduation, Meyers led the famed Medicos against outstanding teams in Georgia and South Carolina. He was offered contracts by the House of David and another touring professional team.
