Guyer, Charles L. - Swimming, 1982

Guyer was an All-American swimmer in 1952 for the University of Georgia. In his two-year collegiate career at Georgia, he set numerous school and SEC records and twice competed in the National Collegiate Association national tournament. In 1951, Guyer placed sixth in the NCAA 100-yard breaststroke and won the SEC Championship in the 100-yard breaststroke. A year later, he won the SEC title in the 100-yard breaststroke, setting a new record time (1:01:3), a benchmark that stood for fourteen years. That same year, Guyer won the SEC title in the 200-yard breaststroke and place fifth in the NCAA 300-yard medley relay.
