Hennemier, John “Jack” - Football, 1970
A lightweight center (132 pounds) at Savannah High School, Hennemier went on in 1931 to play football at Duke University under the famed Coach Wallace Wade. Reaching the 150-55 weight range, he was the varsity center for three years with the Blue Devils. During this time, he earned honor as All-Southern, All-American Honorable Mention, and Duke’s Most Valuable Player.
